Subject: Brochure for Conservation Genetics Workshop
The Sálim Ali Centre for Ornithology and Natural History (SACON), is a
Centre of Excellence under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate
Change. SACON’s mission is “To help conserve India’s biodiversity and its
sustainable use, through research, education and people’s participation
with birds at the centre stage”. The Conservation Genetics course is among
several other training courses being initiated at SACON.
If you are interested in Biodiversity Conservation and Genetics, then this
is the workshop for you! This is specifically designed as a primer for
students and teachers who wish to initiate research in this field. This
will be restricted to Indian nationals.
The five day course will be held from June 5th (Monday) to 9th (Friday)
2017. Classes will be held from 10 am to 5 pm. Please refer to the schedule
