Dear friends,
As you may be aware there have been decisions, in recent times, to cull
herbivores in select areas without a sound basis. While Uttarakhand and
Bihar have got a nod from Centre, culling has begun in Maharashtra and
Telangana on state orders.
This culling has been highly distressing and some of us have joined
hands with FIAPO to get people together on the issue be it meeting CWWs
in relevant states, writing to MOEF or generating more support within
the public by writing in media. In other words we are keen to work
towards preventing further damage and happy to join hands with like
minded people.
FIAPO, a federation of animal welfare organizations has launched a
campaign to stop animals being declared as vermin in various states
across the country. More of the campaign here :

Write to you asking if you would be willing to write to the relevant
authorities over this, give statements, bring out issue in press or else
that could help. We will be happy to collate copies of these articles,
statements and letters for further lobbying.
If you have suggestions on people we write to seeking support, articles
/ government orders that we could look up or actions that we could
explore undertaking we will be glad to hear from you. Similarly we have
begun putting together information on the topic and should that be of
relevance will be happy to share.
