Have you always wanted to learn how to set up a camera trap? Set up a line
transect or count birds?
This is the course for you! We will be running an intense and exciting
field course for students and professionals interested in wildlife research
methods and sampling techniques. The course will be a mix of class room
sessions paired with hands-on application in one of the most beautiful
field stations in the Western Ghats. Our focus will be training people to
identify animal signs, forest etiquette, using equipment (GPS, Camera
Traps). This will be combined with various wildlife sampling and estimation
methods and learning to interpret the data gathered. The course will be
taught by professionals with many years of field experience along with
practical advice on how to plan wildlife surveys. A fun safari in stunning
Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary will be included. The goal is to equip learners
to appreciate the key concepts of wildlife research and prime them for a
career in the field.
Students: 10,000 INR
Professionals: 13,000 INR
Travel to and fro to Chikamagalur has to be borne by the participants.
