*Survey in brief: *
Indian wolves have three distinct genetic lineages, thus categorizing them
as a unique species both phylogenetically and taxonomically. The Indian
wolves occupy the southernmost ranges of wolves found worldwide and are the
smallest of all. Despite being one of the top predators in the semi-arid
ecosystem, the Indian wolf’s status and distribution are obscure. Though it
is an endangered Schedule-I species under Indian Wildlife (Protection) Act,
1972, there seems to be a wider gap in the information available when
compared to other predators like tigers, leopards, and lions.
Hence, it is the need of the hour for a nationwide survey to ensure that at
least the remaining wolves are conserved. We request your time and
appreciate your efforts in helping us in our survey by filling the google
