New RESEARCH MASTERS in Behaviour, Ecology and Evolution in the School
of Biology, University of St Andrews, UK.

We are pleased to announce a new 12-month, research-only Masters
degree at St Andrews. The School of Biology will have three thematic
programs, with the “Behaviour, Ecology and Evolution” program based at
the Centre for Biological Diversity (CBD) of most interest to AB
readers.

There are currently more than 20 faculty and independent research
fellows in the CBD, with research interests spanning animal behaviour,
behavioural and evolutionary ecology, conservation ecology, and
evolutionary genetics. Particular research strengths include animal
cognition, evolution in the wild, inter-specific interactions,
measures of biodiversity, sexual selection, social learning, social
evolution, and speciation. We have a vibrant post-graduate community
and strong links between research and research-led teaching at both
undergraduate and post-graduate level. St Andrews is also a gorgeous
place to live and work, with a strong sense of community.

To apply, please first identify and contact potential supervisors
(https://synergy.st-andrews.ac.uk/research/mscres/cbd-supervisors/) or
view currently advertised areas
(https://synergy.st-andrews.ac.uk/research/mscres/mscres-behaviour-ecology-and-evolution/).

Then please follow the application procedures outlined here:
https://www.st-andrews.ac.uk/study/pg/apply/

We accept applications throughout the year, with starting dates in
September and January each year. For further queries, please contact
Biology Post-graduate Admissions (pgrecbiology@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx).

The awarding of a Masters of Science by Research degree, or MSc(Res),
will follow the successful completion of an original research project
and submission of a thesis based on that research within 12 months of
the starting date. For full details of the degree, including
eligibility, fee structures and examination by thesis, please see:
