Dear members,
Centre for Pastoralism (CFP) is looking for a research assistant (RA) who
will work on a
project with women in mobile pastoralist communities in Kutch, Gujarat. CFP
is partnering with the University of Leeds, UK in this research project
which brings together academic disciplines of gender studies, development
studies and the sociological study of religion to study the complex
transformations of pastoralist women’s lives.
Applicants should have completed their Masters or M.Phil in Gender Studies,
Human Ecology, Development Studies, Sociology or a subject relevant to the
research project from a reputed University. We encourage young women
scholars interested in research and with some experience in field research
to apply. Applicants should have good communication skills in English and
Gujarati. They will be based in Kutch, Gujarat under a one year contract.
Work will entail intense field work with migratory pastoralists, assisting
the lead research team, detailed transcribing of interviews and
documentation.
They will be guided by senior researchers from the University of Leeds and
from CFP.
