Project: “Status and Conservation of Cantor's Giant Softshell turtle in
Kerala”
There is an immediate requirement of volunteers/interns for a project
titled, "Status and Conservation of Cantor's Giant Softshell turtle in
Kerala". The study sites include Kuttiyadi and Valapattanam Rivers. The
work mainly includes social surveys with the local people and collecting
information on the sightings of the turtle and also field surveys for the
turtle. This project is a good opportunity to learn the approach of
integrating social aspects with the conservation of freshwater turtles.
*Basic Requirements for the opening:*
No specific academic qualification is required or desired. However, we
strongly require someone who can learn things easily and work passionately
on the field. Candidates having a keen interest in ecological research will
be desirable.
-Candidates with *fluency in spoken Malyalam *and English is a requirement.
-Candidates who are willing to volunteer/intern for longer period will be
preferred.
Food and accommodation will be taken care.
