Dear Delhi Birders,
As you are aware Wetlands International South Asia organize largest annual
waterbird census across Asia and Australasia known as “Asian Waterbird
Census” (AWC)- part of International Waterbird Census (IWC) with the aim of
conservation of wetland and water birds carries out in the month of January
by national network of volunteers in coordination with the State
Coordinator(s) and a National Coordinator. AWC 2018 is scheduled from 06 to
21 January, 2018 and simultaneously will be carried out across 27 countries
including India. Interested Birders are invited for active participation as
volunteer in AWC 2018 in Delhi region alike previous years.
Those are interested and available for AWC 2018 for any of the AWC Sites as
below please confirm well in advance for reconfirmation. Your valuable
contribution for participation in AWC 2018 for conservation of wetland &
water birds in Delhi region will be acknowledged by awarding International
Certificate of Recognition by the Wetlands International.
Dates for AWC 2018 in Delhi region:-
06/01/2018 at 8 a.m:- Okhla Bird Sanctuary, Noida
06/01/2018 at 12 pm:- Sanjay Lake, East Delhi
10/01/2018 at 8 am:- Surajpur Wetland, Greater Noida
11/01/2018 at 8 a.m:- Najafgarh Drain & Jheel, Gurgaon-Najafgarh area
13/01/2018 at 8 p.m:- River Yamuna, New Delhi (Wazirabad Barrage to
Nizamuddin Bridge)
20/01/2018 at 8 a.m:- National Zoological Garden (Delhi Zoo), New Delhi
