Subject: Calling authors for HerpBuzz (a new section to Herpetoscope)

Dear YETI members,
We’re glad to announce a new section to Herpetoscope, HerpBuzz!
This section will have summaries (200 – 250 words) of scientific literature
focusing on the herpetofaunal diversity of the Indian sub-continent.
HerpBuzz aims to increase community participation, simplify scientific
writings and make them more accessible to the community, while highlighting
the importance of scientific literature and promoting the understanding of
herpetology. This section also intends to foster discussion among students,
researchers and herp enthusiasts regarding research and conservation in
herpetology.
Summaries of 10 – 15 articles will be published in each issue. The authors
will have to summarize the article in 200 – 250 words underlining the
methodologies and key findings presented in the article.
We are looking for students and herp enthusiasts with précis writing skills
and the ability to understand and summarise research articles using an
easy-to-understand language. Interested authors can choose from the list of
the papers provided, which may highlight a few aspects of herpetology like
ecology, evolution, biogeography, taxonomy, systematics, natural history
and so on. Proper guidance and support will be provided to you by the
HerpClub team throughout the whole process. You can also choose to remain a
passive contributor until you choose to commit to an issue.
Your summaries will be published in Herpetoscope with you as an author, and
for all your work, you will be acknowledged on our social media handles.
Additionally, you will possibly interact with researchers to check facts.
