EARLY CAREER CONSERVATIONIST AWARD FOR ASIA
APPLICATION OPEN UNTIL 31 MAY 2019
Society for Conservation Biology- Asia Section is pleased to launch a new
award to recognize early career conservationists working in Asia.
The aim of this award is to recognize and support exceptional conservation
professionals at the
beginning of their careers and on the way to making real impact on key
conservation issues in Asia. Our priority is to recognize conservationists
whose center of life and work is in Asia (i.e. citizens and/or residents
with major conservation work in the region) but please consider applying
for this award if you are based elsewhere but work in Asia, with
appropriate justification in the application material.
Important Dates
Application closes: *31 May 2019* (midnight, Central European Time)
Notification of acceptance: 05 June 2019
Eligibility:
You should have spent a considerable time working (and preferably living)
in Asia.
You should have started your professional conservation career not more than
10 years ago (or within 10 years of your PhD if you are in academia).
You should be a member of SCB Asia (you do not necessarily need to be a
member to apply, but you must become a member to receive the award).
Application materials:
1. Complete application form (please see attachment).
2. Two scanned letters of recommendation (please see application form for
details).
3. A two-page CV.
4. Please combine all application materials into a single pdf saved in the
following format:
(firstname_lastname_ECC_Asia2019.pdf).
Selection criteria
Applications will be ranked by novelty and relevance of work to Asia, a
demonstrated track record and future potential for conservation impact,
mentoring, and public outreach.
