Dear friends,
Please refer to the earlier email regarding the recommendations put forward
by NWA and Green Guard Nature Organization following the latest incident of
elephant deaths due to train hit in Assam.
Please find appended links to available footage of elephants on railway
tracks; many times they are actually feeding along the tracks, walking
along or even sleeping there. These are just a few of many more available
on the internet.
The use of dash cams and the Automated Early Warning System by RailVision
or similar technology could facilitate the understanding of how much such
behavior is actually linked to elephant deaths by train hits. Thank you for
the response to the earlier mail.
