With the approval of competent authorities, I would like to inform you that
the National Institute of Virology, Kerala Unit, Alappuzha [Head Quarter
NIV Pune- Indian Council of Medical Research, Ministry of Health and Family
Welfare, Department of Health Research, New Delhi], recently implemented an
intervention research program entitled *"Community engagement in control of
some vector borne diseases: A community based intervention in Alappuzha
Municipality”. *
In relation to this, Master of Public Health Students and Master Social
Work students [MSW-with specialization "Community Development"] would get
opportunity to be the part of intervention research program in two selected
wards of Alappuzha Municipality. As part of their coursework
(fieldwork/internship/block placement), students can participate in this
program for the direct field experience and to understand the
interconnections of community development and health issues. Along with,
they can facilitate the community intervention program. The students can
join in this program from 1st February 2019 on-wards. The faculties of
Public Health and Social Work departments in Kerala may communicate
