India, Dehradun*
Dugong Recovery Program at Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun is
looking to hire an intern for a period of 6 months (starting from January
2018) to assist in science-based conservation education, outreach and
awareness program in Dugong range states (Gujarat, Tamilnadu, Andaman &
Nicobar islands).
*Responsibilities:* Intern will assist in developing outreach material on
Dugongs and seagrasses, marine mammals/turtles, conduct environmental
education programs, including on-site and off-site programs/festivals and
organise public presentations to stakeholders. The intern will also be
involved in maintaining & updating the project website along with assisting
in research data management at the Headquarters.
*Qualifications:* The internship is open to students who have recently
graduated or post-graduated from any accredited college or university.
Preference will be given to candidates from life sciences background
(biology, environmental studies, marine science, education, or other
related fields). However, its not mandatory.
Intern should demonstrate strong written/verbal communication and creative
skills. Knowledge of Corel Draw, MS Powerpoint and Excel is a prerequisite.
Intern should be available to work from January 2018 to June 2018. The
tenure of the position might be extended based on performance.
