For YETI Vishnupriya ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Arpita Bhagat <arpitabhagat@xxxxxxxxx> Date: Mon, May 19, 2014 at 10:15 PM Subject: Leveraging Internet to help bridge environment-people-solutions gap To: meet.yeti@xxxxxxxxx, meetyeti <meetyeti@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Dear All, Internet has revolutionized the way we think, work and live in the last decade. The penetration of smart phone is unprecedented even though we are a developing country. After November (Nirbhaya incident) 2012, there was a sudden upsurge of campaigns, movements and organizations working towards Women's Safety which effectively brought the nation together. However, when it comes of Environmental issues (typically the urban environment which directly concern citizens who are on the internet-on-a-go), how far have we been able to use this technology (internet & Mobile phones) to work towards Environmental solution is debatable and bring communities together? As somebody interested in bridging (what I call) the environment-people-solutions gap since my university days, I'm currently working on a project and campaigns to bring such issues to limelight in an easy-to-understand manner for the people. Please participate in this very short survey that looks at this dilemma and opens door to a debate. http://goo.gl/QbQvw1 If you have any questions, please direct them directly to me.
