The Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and the Environment (ATREE),
Bengaluru, is looking for a *Regional FRA Coordinator* in *Dindori
District, Madhya Pradesh*.
*Position*: Regional FRA Coordinator, Dindori
*Project*: Strengthening CFR Management in Central India
*Job Location*: Samnapur/Dindori (Madhya Pradesh)
ATREEās Centre for Environment & Development is involved in a series of
activities under the project on āStrengthening Community Forest Resource
(CFR) management in Central Indiaā. A recent initiative under this project
involves providing technical and training support to forest village
communities in Baiga Chak (Dindori district) for claiming CFR rights,
correcting IFR titles, and developing and implementing CFR management
plans, in collaboration with the Dindori District Administration.
*Key responsibilities of the Region FRA Coordinator:*
i) Providing technical support and capacity-building of ATREEās
FRA Coordinators team in Baiga Chak;
ii) Helping collect, organize, analyse and present data on
CFR/IFR as required to correct titles;
iii) Coordinating with the District Administration in this
process;
iv) Coordinating training for CFR Management Planning;
v) Helping communities develop CFR Management plans and obtain
implementation support from the administration where needed;
vi) Carrying out all Hindi and English documentation work.
*Essential and desirable qualifications*
Ā· *Essential qualifications and skills*
a) Masters in Social Work, Development, Rural Management, or allied
subjects.
b) Min. 2 years of experience in rural development work, and
particularly in the area of forest rights,
c) Competence in English and Hindi communication, both oral and written.
d) Computer skills, including spreadsheets and elementary GIS
e) Team work and collaborative skills, and facilitate the work of and
build capacities of Adivasi team members
Ā· *Desirable qualifications*
a) Experience of fieldwork in forested areas of MP/Chhattisgarh and
understanding of forest-based livelihoods and elementary forest ecology
*Salary:* Salary and benefits will be commensurate with qualifications and
experience, ranging from Rs.40,000 to Rs.50,000 per month
*Duration of appointment:* The appointment will be for an initial period of
1 year, extendable depending upon performance and funding.
*Field posting**: *The person will be expected to stay in Dindori or
Samnapur. The work will involve extensive field travel in the villages of
Baiga Chak region of Dindori district.
