Hello Everyone,


Need project assistants urgently for a study on the lakes of Bangalore

    * Looking for two male project assistants(due to work hours-late
night shifts) for a period of 4-5 weeks at the Center for Climate
Change, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.
    * Work is a part of an ongoing study to track carbon cycling in
lakes of Bangalore. This is a part of a larger study to assess the
role of eutrophic lakes in global carbon cycling.
    * Work basically involves a lot of field sampling. A typical
workday will include sampling in a selected lake every 3-4 hours for
the full 24 hours. This will be repeated every 3-4 days. In all, ten
lakes will be covered.
    * All equipment, logistics, etc. will be taken care of by the Center.
    * Work will begin in February last week and finish in April first week.
    * The participants will be given a certificate of work experience
and a letter of commendation from the Institute for their
participation, along with an acknowledgement in all publications
resulting from the work. In addition, a remuneration of Rs. 5000 will
be paid at the end of the study period.
    * Applicants should be male (as the work involves working through
the night in remote locations) and fluent in English. Those with a
background in environmental sciences, earth sciences and allied fields
will be preferred.
