Sciences - Museum
Dear All,
A postdoctoral position is available for a period of 2 years to work
towards developing a digital museum based on the animal specimen
collections at Centre for Ecological Sciences, Indian Institute of Science,
Bangalore.
Eligibility: The candidate should have a Ph.D degree in the fields of
ecology/evolution/animal behaviour/zoology/systematics and should be
familiar and comfortable with digital media and platforms.
Work Description: The candidate will be expected to work closely with
faculty and other postdocs and staff to oversee the building of the digital
museum at CES, come up with innovative ideas for the design of the digital
platform and liaise with technical personnel. The candidate will also be
required to spend a part of his/her time helping with activities to raise
further funds for the museum and the department: these will include writing
and collating reports and proposals and making relevant multimedia
presentations.
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are required as
well as the ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds and skills.
Those with a passion for science outreach are strongly encouraged to apply.
Salary: The salaries will be according to the institutional norms at the
level of RA I, RA II or RA III (RA = Research Associate), depending on
experience, and ranging from Rs. 36000/- to Rs. 40000/- per month (plus
HRA). The initial appointment will be for one year, extendable to two years
based on performance.

would be able to contribute to the goals of building a digital museum and
