*WHICH PLANT IS IT? "INTRODUCTION TO PLANT IDENTIFICATION"*
*11-13 October 2022 (6:30- 8:30 pm IST) *
*Plants, the lungs of mother earth, are an integral part of our lives. We
see plants of various sizes, shapes and lifespan around us *
*About the course: *
This course will introduce you to the art of identifying the plants around
you, what are some common plant families and how to identify them. We will
also explore some interesting peculiar characters useful in plant
identification.
*COURSE CONTENTS:*
• History and introduction to plant taxonomy and nomenclature,
• Overview of classification systems,
• Important morphological characters useful for identification,
• Important plant families and their characteristics,
• Use of different resources for plant identification- Flora, herbarium,
web resources

*PARTICIPANTS:* Anyone interested in identifying and conservation of
plants.
