Dear All,
I am looking for a volunteer to assist in an ongoing research project
on “*Smooth-coated
Otter as an ecological indicator of Riparian habitat ecosystem*”. This is a
field-based project, and mainly involves field surveys on assessing Otter
occurrence through direct/indirect evidences, camera trapping and habitat
assessment. The field work will be conducted in the Coimbatore Forest
Division, Tamil Nadu. The applicant should have a strong affinity in
conducting rigorous fieldwork. The volunteer will get to work in a unique
landscape largely along riverine habitats and gain hands-on experience in
handling various field equipments such as GPS, Multi Parameter, camera
trapping and habitat assessment techniques. The work period is for 6 months
which can be extended further if required. Field logistic support including
travel from place of stay to field and back, basic food and accommodation
will be taken care of by the project. Remuneration may be provided
depending upon the work. Tamil speaking applicant having two-wheeler
license will be given preference.
