I am Nita Shashidharan, a PhD student with Ashoka Trust for Research in
Ecology and the Environment (ATREE). I work on understanding the role of
climatic variability and management practices on forest and agricultural
land use/land cover and linked ecosystem services in the Sathyamangalam
Tiger Reserve, Tamil Nadu. I am currently looking for a field assistant.
Please find details of this position below.
*Field Assistant Required*
Looking for an individual comfortable with communication in both Tamil
(oral and written) and English (oral). If the person also knows Kannada, or
is from a region closer to Sathyamangalam, it would be an added advantage.
The study would involve assisting the researcher in systematic data
collection and field work. The work provides an opportunity for extensive
traveling across the Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve for conducting
interviews, questionnaires, and vegetation plots assessments. I am looking
for a person who would be able to commit to assisting me for a minimum
period of 6 months.
*Stipend:* The Field Assistant (FA) will be paid a fixed stipend of 12,000
*Note:* Accommodation, food, and local travel at the field site will be
covered. The FA is expected to be largely based at the field station for
the duration of the assignment.
To apply please email to nita.shashidharan@xxxxxxxxx with your CV and a
short write up on why you are interested in being part of this study. The
last date of application is *December 31, 2019*.
