Hello there,
I am a Ph.D. scholar working on the ecology of urban birds under the
supervision of Dr. P. Pramod, Senior Principal Scientist at Salim Ali
Centre for Ornithology and Natural History (SACON), Coimbatore Tamilnadu.
We are looking for passionate volunteers residing in Coimbatore who can
carry out fieldwork in Coimbatore city. The opportunity will provide the
volunteer with experience in urban bird surveys and avian ecology.
*Essential qualifications:*
路 Individuals who are currently residing in Coimbatore city
路 Individuals having at least an undergraduate degree in Life
sciences or other related subjects.
路 Experience in bird watching and ability to identify birds.
路 Individuals having a two-wheeler and license to drive
路 Fluency in Tamil and English
*Support and benefit:*
This is a short-term position for the duration of May-June 2023. Basic
expenses needed for field work such as fuel charges will be covered. All
the necessary training for carrying out the work will be provided. Upon
successful completion of the fieldwork, an *experience certificate* will
also be provided. Moreover, *co-authorship* can be given for publications
from the data.
Based on the performance of the candidate, the opportunity can be extended
in future work.
