Hello Folks!
I am a Ph.D. student (UGC-JRF) working under supervision of Dr Ashutosh
Singh, Scientist and Dr. Riddhika Kalle, Senior scientist at Salim Ali
centre for Ornithology and Natural History (SACON), Coimbatore Tamilnadu.
Are you interested in working on bird related studies in Tamil Nadu? We are
looking for interns who would be interested in carrying out field work in
human modified landscapes of Coimbatore district. The field survey involves
the population assessment of avifauna in rural-urban gradient of Coimbatore
districts. This opportunity would provide participants with valuable
experience in bird surveys and basic wildlife knowledge
*Essential qualifications:*
路 Candidates with at least bachelor degree in Ecology, Environment
Science, Wildlife science, and allied subjects.
路 Ability to comfortably drive 2-wheeler
路 Fluency in Tamil and English
路 Aptitude for interacting with people and conducting interviews
based on a questionnaire
*Desirable Qualifications:*
路 Strong interest in Birds related studies
*Funding support:*
This is a short-term position starting from Mid-April 2023. The position
can be extended based on the performance of the candidate. Basic field
expenses will be borne by the project.
Further details about the internship can be discussed through the mail. On
successful completion of the assigned work, a certificate of internship or
experience letter will be provided to the candidate.
