Dear all,

We are eagerly looking for a wildlife enthusiast who can volunteer/intern
for 6 months in our ongoing research project on Smooth-coated Otters in the
middle Bhavani sub-basin of Coimbatore Forest Division, Tamil Nadu. This is
a field-based project that requires extensive and arduous field walks (5-10
km/day) in riverine habitats. The project assesses the species distribution
and riparian habitat quality. Surveys will involve identification of
tracks, spraints, mass-latrine sites for species identification, habitat
assessment, GIS analysis and camera-trapping. The applicant should have a
strong interest in wildlife and ecology, she/he must be physically fit to
conduct rigorous fieldwork which might also require carrying heavy
equipment and walking through tough terrain. The volunteer/intern will have
the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various field equipment such
as GPS, Multi-Parameter for water quality monitoring, camera-trap placement
and habitat assessment techniques. Field logistic support including travel,
place of stay to field and back, basic food and accommodation will be
covered by the project. Remuneration may be provided depending upon the
candidate's ability and work profile. The candidate may be qualified with a
Bachelor's or Master's degree in wildlife science, ecology, biodiversity,
conservation science, biological sciences or past work experience in
