On the occasion of World Environment Day, an online discussion cum talk
show on the topic "Ecology is the permanent Economy" has been organised by
the volunteers of 'Greenpeace India' under the banner of "Youth for Change
India". The event will be organised on 5th June 2021, from 5:00 to 6:30 PM

Environment Day Event: Talk Show with Experts- '"Ecology is the permanent
Economy"
Speakers:
Aishwarya Raj
He is an IFS officer, he converted a dump yard in Himachal Pradesh into a
green zone by planting a large variety of trees and upcycling waste
material. He is also active on Instagram with 16k followers. The state
government recently announced the initiative of Swarnim Vatika, a drive to
conduct plantations to celebrate the golden jubilee of the state’s
formation. Aishwarya decided to seek funds from the programme and solve the
crisis in the state.
Dr Binish Desai
He has started the Brick 2.0 initiative. He has been able to convert 100
different types of waste into more than 193 different products. With the
help of waste from paper industries and his patented binder, Dr Binish has
used shredded PPE waste to make an eco brick. One eco brick is made up of
52% shredded Covid PPE waste. This is waste that could have gone to the
landfill but is now being used productively.

Speakers would be sharing their journey with respective initiatives and
what were their inspirations and challenges in the process concerning our
theme.
