Greetings from GreenLine Mumbai,
We are looking for Volunteers to be a part of the ongoing research to
explore the diversity and ecology of spiders in Mumbai by Akash Hemant
Mhadgut (M.Sc. Biodiversity Conservation and Management at Bhavan’s College
- Mumbai). Through this research project, there will be some data generated
on spiders from the mangrove ecosystem of Mumbai which will be submitted to
various Governmental & Non-governmental Organisations and a paper
publication will be accomplished on the research work which will help to
create baseline data on spider diversity across Mumbai's Mangroves.
DETAILS-
Duration- Feb-May 2023 (4 months)
Locations - Madh mangroves, Mankhurd west and east
Certificate and traveling allowances will be given to the volunteers.
Requirements-
1) Camera compulsory.
2) Should click decent macro photographs of spiders (dorsal images).
3) It is not mandatory for the volunteers to be able to identify the
species but they should be good observers (spotters).
4) 2 visits in a month to the given location.
5) Survey should last for 2hrs from start time. (eg. 8:00am-10:00am)
6) The given location's habitat is a mangrove area, so the volunteers must
be aware of the basic challenges that will be faced such as - clothes (near
to ground) & footwear getting dirty.
