I am sharing a great work opportunity with the Vayam Movement.
*JD for Action Research Fellowship*
*Nature of work:*
1) Working with Gramsabhas to plan forest management and ecological
restoration
2) Liaising between Forest department and Gramsabha in implementing the
plans
3) Identifying forest based livelihood options for villagers
4) implementing pilot project of apiculture
5) Procuring equipment necessary for such livelihoods
6) Developing sustainable extraction systems
7) Studying the local ecological systems and working with forest
communities to safeguard biodiversity
*Competency/eligibility:*
1) Good Marathi speaking
2) Good English writing
3) Masters degree with First Class or Bachelor degree with 2 years work
experience
4) Readiness to live in village with basic/simple amenities
*Background of organization:*
Vayam Movement is a 16-year old organization working with 200 tribal
villages.
*Vayam* has inspired villages to conserve forests and water. It has
prevented distress migration. Livelihoods based on conserved resources is
the next initiative of the movement.
Work Location: Jawhar, Palghar district, Maharashtra
This is a 1 year fellowship with full-time commitment and a decent salary.
