Hi,
Please circulate the following.
*Volunteer Expedition - An insight into the lives of Pangolin*
*About Pangolins*
Indian Pangolin (Manis crassicaudata) is also called Thick-tailed Pangolin.
There is little known about the natural history of this species, but it is
understood to occur in various types of tropical forests as well as open
land, grasslands and degraded habitat, including in close proximity to
villages. The species is thought to adapt well to modified habitats,
provided its ant and termite prey remains abundant and provided it is not
subject to hunting pressure.
*Objectives of the expedition*
‣ Surveys for Pangolin signs and prey base
‣ Exploring through the forests for long hours ‣ Digital mapping and data
interpretation
‣ Setting up camera traps
Dates: February 8, 2018 to February 16, 2018
Where: Wild Otters Base in Jor, near Mahabaleshwar Foothills, Maharashtra
Fee: Rs. 13000 (includes food, basic accommodation, knowledge delivery)
Only 3 Seats available
Those interested contact *atul@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx <atul@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>*
