We are looking for a volunteer for the above-mentioned project. This
project is part of my PhD work. I am trying to understand the systematics
and phylogenetics of the Himalayan langur species complex.
This position mainly involves laboratory work where the volunteer is
expected to help in generating molecular data. The main job of the
volunteer will be to extract DNA from the samples already collected and do
PCR amplification for the extracted DNA. A basic knowledge of these
techniques is desirable, but not necessary.
In return, volunteers will learn different laboratory techniques used for
molecular data generation, how to generate and interpret phylogenetic
trees, how to perform different kinds of phylogenetic and population
genetic analyses.
*Duration – Minimum 6 months (extendable based on performance)*
