Application is invited by Wildlife Conservation Society-India for a
position of Research Associate (RA) to provide support in the program on
estimating carrying capacity for ecotourism sites in Protected Areas and
natural habitats in India. Details of the requirements and job profile are
described below.

*Essential Qualifications*:

   1. Master’s degree in Wildlife Sciences/Life Science/Zoology or any
   other related field
   2. Strong analytical and writing skills in English
   3. Minimum experience of 2 years in wildlife biology and monitoring;
   prior experience of bird monitoring and counting will be preferred
   4. Language: Hindi, English (knowledge of Odiya is preferred)

*Desirable Qualification: *

   1. Experience in preparing technical and scientific project reports
   2. Prior experience of working with communities, and conducting social
   surveys; experience in projects related to ecotourism will be strongly
   preferred
   3. Published scientific or popular articles on wildlife conservation and
   research
   4. Ability to work independently, as well as collaborate effectively as
   a member of a team

*Description of Work:*

The selected candidates will provide support in the various projects
related to the program that are currently being implemented by WCS-India.
Specific roles include collecting ecological data relevant to the project,
conducting multi-stakeholder surveys, and preparation of management plans
and technical reports. The RA will also assist in organizing meetings and
workshops, and provide other relevant assistance as and when required.

The position is based at the headquarters in Bengaluru but involves
frequent travel to the field sites.
