*Did you know there is an ancient Mayan city located in Central America
whose impressive architecture is believed to have been inspired by a
crocodile's back?*
*In this webinar we delve into the intriguing relationship between people
and crocodilian species. Throughout history, crocodiles have played a
significant role in the cultures and belief systems of human communities
across the globe. As people are moving away from their traditions and
beliefs and their personal interactions with crocodiles are going down,
there has been an “extinction of experiences”, which impacts contemporary
as well as future interactions with crocodiles. *
Join us this Thursday on *20th April* at *6 pm IST* for a discussion with
renowned herpetologists *Romulus Whitaker (Founder of Madras Crocodile Bank
Trust)* and *Dr. Simon Pooley (Lambert Lecturer in Applied Herpetology,
University of London)*, moderated by our Research Fellow *Yashendu Joshi*,
as they explore the many ways in which crocodiles have impacted human
societies and vice versa.
