Niche modeling enables scientists to understand ranges, conservation &
ecological requirements, & climatic boundaries of the species.
In recent years, due to advances in RS-GIS and citizen science, there is a
plethora of open access data available on biodiversity as well as
predictors used in SDMs.
In this live online interactive workshop, we will discuss,
1. Concepts in niche modeling
2. Identification of questions that need an SDM approach
3. Data sources, citizen science data
4. Constructing simple linear models using R
5. Constructing simple niche models using MaxEnt
6. Interpreting and applications of SDMs
During the workshop, the participants will be provided with study material,
software files, datasets, and instructions for hands-on training.
Participants will be encouraged to come up with mini-projects and we will
guide them further even after the course is completed.
The workshop is open to everyone (UG / PG / PhD / Postdocs / Faculty)
interested in SDM. The participants will be provided with certificates of
course completion.
