Are you an engineer (or anyone) with interests and skills in signal processing
wanting to contribute to wildlife/biodiversity conservation? We have a
multi-disciplinary project that examines bird songs through automated recorders
placed in different parts of Western Ghats. We are also attempting to build
hardware and software that can parse out songs of different species. This has
immense value for conservation as the project is implemented in high elevation
sky islands with very high levels of species endemism. Some more information
about the project is at http://skyisland.in/Song.html

Programming (C, Matlab, Python)
Signal and/or Image Processing,
Embedded Systems
Web-hosting, mobile applications

If you are interested in working on this project, do write to Anil Prabhakar
<anilpr@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> or merobinvijayan@xxxxxxxxx with your cv indicating your
experience in a similar field and your interest in working on this project.
After a trial period of one month, we expect a participation of at least one
year in the project.

Some preferred skills:
V. V. Robin (NCBS & NCF) and Anil Prabhakar (IIT-chennai & NCBS)
