The service has shifted to DTT. The antenna instructions describe what I went through for indoor reception exactly. They appear to be saying that most people should have local PBS reception no problem with an indoor antenna. Hmmm. Until WETA-DT goes up in power and/or antenna height, that would rule us out, I believe. Unless Moviebeam has the true cold fusion solution. Would be nice to know what the on-screen instructions say about using "alternate channels" when RF reception is bad. Here's the quote: "If you are not receiving a strong enough signal, MovieBeam may need to try to get a signal from an alternate channel. If this is the case, you will be prompted to do this from the Antenna Set-Up screen." I would think the system begins by scanning for channels. Not sure how an alternate channel would help. Maybe I should call the number and pretend, just to see what they say.
