Then there's this:

Really? Is this another example of disingenuously pretending that the ATSC
3.0 one-way broadcast channel magically provides "interactivity," such as
VOD, all by itself, or is this another example of vaguely claiming that "all
we need is a backchannel"?
Of course not. It is a simple statement of fact, that broadcasters could use
their own White Spaces to offer broadband. This could be an attractive
proposition with a distributed broadcast infrastructure rather than big sticks;
even more feasible if all broadcasters in these rural areas formed spectrum
utilities to operate the infrastructure.
Let's get real. To provide any measure of credible broadband service, no way
can you mix TV broadcast with broadband service.
WHAT CRAP. In most rural market there is plenty of bandwidth available. The
only significant issue is the devices needed at the viewers premises to enable
the two way path. This would be no different than what T-Mobile is doing with
the 600 MHz spectrum...
Therefore, it makes no sense to use ATSC 3.0 which, as written, cannot
provide two-way broadband service.
Then don’t use ATSC 3.0 for the broadband service...
But ATSC 3.0 would be essential if you are going to deploy a distributed
transmission infrastructure. No reason you cannot do both in the spectrum below
600 MHz.
