One more thing...
The government sucks at building infrastructure, as Bert knows all to well as a
military contractor.
It’s not just the cost of regulation, which applies equally to any
infrastructure project, public or private. it is the gross mismanagement of
public projects and the huge cost of projects managed by government
bureaucracies.
We now have a magnificent example of just how inept the government has been,
and continues to be when it manages bleeding edge technology projects. Just
look at NASA.
Last week SpaceX launched the worlds most powerful booster rocket, then landed
the boosters back at the cape to be used again. The biggest rocket in the NASA
arsenal costs $1 BILLION per launch. SpaceX has demonstrated a next generation
launch vehicle that costs $100 Million per launch...
Meanwhile the private sector is starting to compete with SpaceX...
The massive success of the deregulated wireless telco industry is another prime
example.
It’s time to rethink the role that government should play in the construction
of infrastructure.

Craig
