Yes, the link between these two evils is obvious. The very big difference
being, it's easy enough to ditch iPhones and buy some brand that is less into
walled garden tactics. Much more difficult to choose a different home
broadband provider.
How absurd.
There is NO RELATIONSHIP between what Apple was doing and the throttling of
broadband access by an ISP. This is the kind of lunatic garbage that we have
come to expect from the Net Neutrality zealots.
It is also worth noting that there is no investigation of Apple by the DOJ and
SEC; they simply sent a letter to Apple requesting that the company answer
several questions related to this issue. And it is worth nothing that ALL
smartphones throttle performance to deal with various power related issues;
this is critical to dealing wireless th the realities of battery performance
and peak power requirements.
But there is one thing we can depend on like the sun coming up...
Back to the basics: there is a well-defined difference, in the telecom act of
1996, and all similar laws that came before, between a telecom service
provider and any USER of the telecom service. Even if, among the unwashed
masses, this distinction is lost, for the FCC to not get it is almost, you
know, criminal negligence. For the FCC Chairman to make light of this, only
to benefit of 3-4 companies that he is clearly beholden to, and to the
detriment of everyone else, is not to be tolerated.
What is “not to be tolerated,” is Bert’s attacks on the FCC and these endless
attacks on Chairman Pai.

Is it just me, or does this not sound like a guilty person pathetically
trying to deflect blame?
It’s just you.
Pai is simply pointing out the reality of what happened under the Obama
administration, which was strongly backed by the edge providers, even as they
were violating the FCC bright line rule on blocking many forms of speech and
individuals they disagreed with.
Pai does not need to deflect blame from zealots like you, who refuse to accept
reality and yearn for the good old days, when the government could encumber
vital public services with excessive regulation, fees, taxes and political
largess.
So here’s a question for Bert.
Why does your company - Boeing - charge so much for everything it sells, and in
particular the divisions that sell products to the government, like the
division you work for?
Why does everything that Boeing and other military contractors build for the
government wind up costing even more than the cost in the original contract?
Enquiring minds want to know what heavy handed regulation and political
manipulation cost taxpayers...
