I would say it is Roseworcel and Attorney General Schneiderman who lack
integrity here.
They are not asking for access to information about all of the fraudulent
submissions to the FCC, only those that fraudulently submitted responses in
favor of reversing the Title II decision. They are not asking about the
submission from Russia and other foreign nationals. They are not asking about
the massive number of fraudulent submissions in favor of Title II.
In short, they are just trying to politicize a process that has been grossly
abused.
Either way, though, 1 1/2 million potentially fraudulent comments, in the
face of 22 million that were not shown to be fraudulent, should not carry
that much weight.
What evidence do you have that 22 million “were not” fraudulent Bert?
Exactly how is the FCC to decide whether millions of identical - but
meaningless - comments were fraudulent or not? Is it the FCC’s responsibility,
or anyone’s for that matter, to determine the validity of comments that do not
address the core issues of the proceeding?
There was NO question in the NPRM that asked - “do you support Title II
regulation of ISPs?”
There was no question in the NPRM that asked - “do you support reversing the
Title II regulation of ISPs.
And there is no reason for the FCC to act on millions of responses that did not
address the issues in the NPRM - this is just a meaningless distraction.
Now, if there was evidence that someone made submissions that address the
questions in the NPRM, someone who for example claimed to be a small ISP, but
was not, here might be reason for an investigation. But that is not what
Roseworcel and Schneiderman are asking for. They are asking for another
meaningless political witch hunt to delay the vote on the Restoring Internet
Freedom order.
Still, if it keeps the rubber stamp vote from occurring, one in which two
Republican Commissioners can do no better than recite verbatim the same words
as the Chairman, it's all good. Delay the farce of a vote.
This is just the beginning Bert. The “shot clock” will not start until the
order is published in the Federal Register. Then the courts will keep the
;waters busy for another year or two...
