So off you go, months on end, on the other side of the world, and one of my fellow watchstanders remarked that being at sea makes you realize just how unimportant a lot of things are back home. And he mentioned specifically sports. When you do without, he said, you realize they don't matter. My exact thoughts at the time were, well, I sure as h*ll didn't have to come way out here to figure that out!!
