At the global level, the number of people subscribing to an OTT service just
surpassed the number of global cable subscribers.
Some interesting “trends” in the U.S. Pay TV and Online Subscription Video
chart. The number of cable subscribers has been essentially flat over the last
five years, while DBS subscribers have declined slightly. I do not know what
IPTV is - guessing it is FTTH pay TV services , as they use OTT or Online
subscription services elsewhere in the report for video delivered via the
Internet.
And despite the growth of OTT subscription services, Cable still has a
significant revenue advantage.
