This may well be true.
But the IAC has existed through many administrations, having been created in
1997. I saw no indication In the dissenting comments that the involvement of
the IAC in FCC proceedings has suddenly changed in the past year.
Having participated in an FCC advisory committee, I can only say that the
politics were intense. Not along traditional party lines, but rather, among the
special interests attempting to influence the process.
Sometimes these advisory committees are created to take the heat off of the
Commissioners, as was the case with the Advisory Committee on Advanced
Television Services. Sometimes they are just window dressing...
