They do not as this release from the FCC clearly states.
After the FCC washes its hands of its assigned duties, will the FTC or
someone ensure that these broadband providers NOT classify themselves as
common carriers? I thought that was an issue, and yet this corrupted FCC
doesn't even mention it.
Bert is hyperventilating about a court case that “could” have an impact on how
certain businesses are regulated. Even if the case does allow a business to
claim common carrier protections, it is far from clear whether this would stand
n appeal, or if Congress would eliminate this potential loophole.
But more important, why the hell would a company want to be regulated as a
common carrier?
This is just another canard thrown up by the Title II supporters...
Holy cow are we tone deaf. So okay, the ISP says "I will block" such and so,
and "I will charge different rates for different sites." When people have one
or at most two choices, and they are an enormous nuisance to change, are you
seriously telling us that if the ISP "discloses" these practices, all's good?
Most of what you describe above is ALREADY ILLEGAL Bert.
Speaking of tone deaf, why is it that you only hear the arguments that you
agree with?
