Hi all:

Just in case there are any brave souls who'd be interested and are
willing to make the trip, there will be a beginning level Amateur Radio
class that will start this Sunday, January 8th at 1 PM at the Fire
Station located at the corner of 26th and Hwy 101 in Florence, OR
(central Oregon coast). The classes will run for about 2 months. You
don’t need to know anything about electronics or ham radio. No one is
too old or too young to take the class – only the desire to learn is
necessary. In addition to the time spent, the only cost will be for the
text book ($19.95) which can be purchased at the class. Ham Radio is a
fun thing and we want the classes to be a fun thing too.

In addition to talking around the world, or just locally, Hams have
provided communications for all kinds of situations including
emergencies in times of disaster. You can be whatever part of the
Amateur (Ham) family that attracts you. Join us and find out.

The teacher is a certified ARRL instructor, has a teaching credential
and is SBE educator of the year for 2004.

Please pass this on to anyone you think might be interested.
