As I recall, LightSquared mysteriously had their license modified to allow terrestrial-only operation to start, and that is when the objections began. Does LightSquared really want to have how they got the FCC to act so quickly on their modification request to be open to discovery?

LightSquared, the bankrupt wireless venture that last year lost its battle with the global positioning system industry, is suing some of its GPS rivals, arguing that they failed to disclose long-standing interference problems.

That group includes Deere & Co. and Garmin International Inc., according to Reuters. Reston-based LightSquared, in a lawsuit filed Friday, said those GPS giants made "promises, agreements and representations" that the proposed 4G network would work side by side with GPS devices.

Those companies, LightSquared alleges, "waited until those billions were invested in the necessary network infrastructure before then breaking their prior promises, reneging on their prior agreements, and disavowing their prior representations."

LightSquared filed the lawsuit in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in the Southern District of New York.
