The reason I said "mixed blessing" is simply that the lack of viruses for Macs are more a reflection of how relatively "not fun" it would be to write a virus for a Mac, than any inherent robustness. (If you can call viruses "fun.") They wouldn't affect anything super critical, or cause any major global disruption. But yes, viruses have become a real pain au derriere, and it's not so much the virus, but how many CPU cycles the updated virus shields demand, when you first boot up the PC. It's really become annoying. I often go to my task manager to see what the blazes is holding things up, and invariably it's one of the several McAfee executibles.
