I'll look at the DVD player(recorder) end of things for the cure then.
My current Philips DVD player does not do this.

Barry, there are some DVD players that will do this.  I know that the
last
Panasonic model I had certainly could (DVD-F85, now discontinued).  Of
course, this is no good for sources other than DVD.
