And there are about 1.8 million hits for "PC crashes...

The difference is not as large as I would have expected.

Things have really stabilized in the past two years since I have 
upgraded to MacOSX. Yes I still have an occasional crash (maybe once 
every 30 - 60 days), but I have not had to re-install existing 
software or drivers in two years. I just accept the software upgrade 
notices I need when my system checks for updates, or is notified of 
new updates by Apple.

I did have a problem early this year that I though was related to an 
Airport (WiFi) software upgrade, but it turned out that the 802.11B 
card was dying.
