Apple's and oranges.
Micronas is providing a truly global solution that will play across
ALL platforms using a wide range of video and audio codecs. The ST
chip is MPEG-2 only and will only play with global DTV broadcasters
and the current generation of MPEG-2 based cable plants.
The ST chip is designed for cheap DTV receivers. The Micronas chips
appears to be targeted at STBs and media centers.
