Seems to me that the cracking of the encryption was inevitable, not a matter of "if" but a matter of "when." The silly arms race continues, inconveniencing legit users and doing little to stop the professional pirates. But I guess it makes them "feel" safer, desperately trying to enforce the old, crumbling business model.
