It’s called cord switching, not cord cutting:

Kagan's quarterly analysis now includes total virtual multichannel
subscriptions from services such as Sling TV, DirecTV Now, Hulu with Live TV,
YouTube TV and PlayStation Vue. The combined virtual platforms gained an
estimated 2.1 million subs in the trailing 9 months, compared a decline of
2.8 million in the traditional segment.
It’s sad, when Bert cannot accept the new reality he has been predicting for
years...
While it’s now possible to stream almost everything on demand, the reality is
that nearly half of all TV watching is “live.”
VMVPD services are providing the best of both worlds, and cloud DVRs as well...
