Perhaps this will help you understand why the legacy MVPDs are riding the
“wired era” down, just as the broadcasters have been surviving the end of FOTA
broadcasting while increasing profits.
How content is delivered continues to evolve. The important numbers are the
ones on the bottom line of the balance sheets. The content congloms are more
profitable than ever.
And the legacy cable companies will continue to be profitable based on their
ability to offer competitive bundles of content along with broadband for the
cord switchers...
It’s hard to believe, but millions of people are still paying for twisted pair
telephone service - go figure...

Part of that is good too. 114.8M * 0.59 = 67.8M
But that 67.8M is to be subtracted from 114.8M, not 127.6M, which leaves 47M
households still with legacy MVPD service. That's only 37% of all US
households, still with legacy MVPD service? Sounds a bit extreme, but that's
what the article suggests has happened. Statistically, anyway.
That's and accelerating phenomenon!
